Utilities Setup

Before move-in, tenants are responsible for setting up utilities as applicable:

  • Electricity: Puget Sound Energy (or local provider)

  • Water/Sewer: Covered by Land to Sea Properties

  • Internet: Xfinity 

  • Garbage/Recycling: LeMay / Butler's Cove

  • Propane: Acme Fuel

Address Changes & Essentials

  • USPS Change of Address: https://www.usps.com

  • Update billing addresses (banks, subscriptions, etc.)

  • Update driver’s license if required (via DOL)

Renter’s Insurance

Renter's Insurance is required for all tenants.

Providers:

  • State Farm

  • Allstate

  • Lemonade

  • USAA (if applicable)

🐾 Pet Services (If Approved)

  • Rover (pet sitting/walking)

  • Chamber's Bay or Tumwater Veterinary Hospital 

  • Grooming: PetSmart / Petco

Vehicle & Parking Considerations

  • Ensure compliance with property parking rules

  • Register vehicles if required

  • No storage of inoperable vehicles on property

Donation & Disposal

Before moving, consider:

Final Moving Tips

  • Schedule movers at least 2–3 weeks in advance

  • Confirm utility activation before move-in day

  • Check with Landlord on Utility deactivation - do not terminate power without written notification and permission

  • Take photos of your previous residence after cleaning

  • Keep important documents easily accessible - Do not pack leases, IDs, codes, check book, etc.
